Apple Crumble
Ingredients
- 10 Lilas Fillo Dough Sheets
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Topping
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- ½ cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup almonds, slivered
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350oF.
- Cut Lilas Fillo Dough sheets in half. Butter each one and layer in an 8" square baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, ginger and cinnamon. Add apples and toss to coat. Pour over buttered Lilas Fillo sheets.
Topping
- In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, flour, brown sugar, ginger and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs and add almonds.
- Sprinkle over apple mixture and bake for 40-45 minutes.
- Cool before serving.
